What is TRE® ?
TRE® (Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises) is a series of exercises that induce an innate 'tremoring' or shaking in the body. These tremors allow tension and stress to release from the body in a safe and controlled manner, leading to a calmer nervous system.
TRE® was developed by Dr. David Berceli, an expert in trauma research. Spending time in war torn countries, Dr. Berceli started to form a hypothesis of the body's wisdom around dispelling tension following threat (fight or flight). Through research and collaboration Dr. Berceli came to understand that all mammals have the innate ability to tremor to release tension and stress patterns in the body following injury or incidents of physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual stress.
Reported Benefits Include:

Individuals who have physical of psychological conditions that require close monitoring, those with a complex history of trauma, or those with physical or medical limitations should work closely with a Certified TRE® Provider through the exercises.

Jen Hamilton
Certified TRE® Provider (In Training)
I was first introduced to TRE® as I was struggling to cope with the effects of work place vicarious trauma. I immediately began to feel the benefits of the process, and with the guidance of my Certified Provider started to incorporate tremoring into my self-care routine.
I have been consistently tremoring for 5 years now and not only am I amazed at the benefits to my nervous system, but I am thrilled at the self awareness that has been cultivated along the way. I find myself more in tune with my inner knowing and which boundaries I need to set to keep myself well. Additionally, I have found TRE® to assist in my PTSD recovery, lower my anxiety, help with sleep, release tension from office life, and help to recover after exercise. I feel grateful every day that TRE® was introduced to me.
As a TRE® Certified Practitioner, I believe in the body’s innate ability to heal, restore balance, and release stored stress and trauma through natural, self-regulating mechanisms. My approach is grounded in creating a safe, compassionate, and supportive space where individuals can reconnect with their bodies and develop greater resilience.
I honor each person’s unique healing journey, empowering clients to trust their own process and move at a pace that feels right for them. TRE® is a gentle, body-based practice that allows for deep release without reactivating past trauma, and I am committed to guiding others in a way that is trauma-informed, client-led, and rooted in safety.
Through TRE®, I aim to support individuals in cultivating greater self-awareness, nervous system regulation, and overall well-being. My role is not to "fix" but to facilitate—holding space for the body’s wisdom to unfold naturally, allowing for lasting transformation and integration.
